PURPOSE
MARCH 6 2026
Purpose is the third movement, centered on rhythm, intention, and collaboration. Created as a focused duo project with drummer Marcus Gilmore, the album explores the relationship between melody and motion, discipline and freedom. The sound moves fluidly between Queens, New York and Los Angeles, carried by horns, keyboards, and layered analog textures.
Instrumentation includes Fender Rhodes, Mellotron, Oberheim, ARP Odyssey, MiniMoog, and alto and soprano saxophones, with select contributions from Keyon Harrold and Taylor McFerrin. Stylistically, the music draws from jazz, hip hop, and social music traditions, traveling across eras while remaining contemporary. Purpose reflects spiritual currency. Once purpose is unlocked, its impact extends beyond the individual. The collaboration is humble, grounded, and intentional. The largest presence in the room is the music itself.
